The Physician Learning Program (PLP) is housed in the Office of Lifelong Learning, and supports the FOMD mission to enhance the knowledge and skills of community practitioners. The PLP 's mandate is to support physicians and teams in advancing practice by addressing their learning needs, and providing information, practice data, and feedback reports. This has extended to include implementation science and knowledge transfer activities to advance practice for physicians and their teams in Alberta.

Reporting to the Managing Director and supervised by the Senior Project Officer, the Project Coordinator will support PLP projects and activities. The Project Coordinator will manage short and long- term projects in a collaborative setting, working effectively with a team including senior project officers, physician leads, data analysts, and others, to carry out the mandate of the Physician Learning Program. This position is responsible for supporting various operating activities, projects, and evaluation initiatives of the PLP team, with an emphasis on project coordination and execution, data analysis, and reporting responsibilities. The Project Coordinator will manage several projects simultaneously, and will coordinate the involvement of various stakeholders to ensure successful completion of projects.

Duties

  • Assists in the development of the project plan, needs assessment, and design and implementation of project protocols and procedures
  • Plans and coordinates all data related elements of projects, including liaising with data analysts, planning data extraction, and planning/directing or carrying out data analysis
  • Prepares consent forms, ethics submissions, renewals and amendments; conducts brief literature reviews
  • Project management: plans, monitors and forecasts various project budgets and timelines, ensuring that financial priorities and agreed upon deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Advises on interpretation of results and findings for dissemination on publications and presentations, and reporting to various stakeholders
  • Participates as a team member in data-related activities including mapping, collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and interpretation
  • Performs statistical and descriptive analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Prepares documentation and records for project meetings (e.g., meeting notes, record of decisions, scheduling meetings), and prepare and make presentations of project activities (oral or written) as required; Manage filing and archives of project documentation
  • Prepares interim and final reports, or provides supporting information for such reports, for funding agencies, community partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Contributes to manuscript writing and preparation and revision of publications
  • Assists in developing and formatting content for oral presentation and poster presentations

Qualifications

  • Master¡¯s degree in health sciences related field strongly preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered; minimum Bachelor's degree in Science.
  • 3 years of technical experience in related disciplines; experience in an academic environment would be an asset
  • Experience with knowledge transfer activities and project management is an asset
  • Knowledge of health care industry and terminology an asset
  • Strong, demonstrated skills in quantitative data analysis and platforms (i.e. SPSS, SAS, Access) required; skills with qualitative data analysis (i.e., NVivo) an asset
  • Demonstrated skills in data visualization, interpretation, presentation, and reporting (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau)
  • Able to perform searches on databases, websites, etc. to support project activities; experience with literature reviews strongly preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Competent and efficient, able to multitask, able to take initiative
  • Adaptability to changing environment, flexibility to accommodate varying workday demands
